Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in Paediatrics
Kate graduated from Coventry University in 1993 and worked in Leicester before moving to Bristol in 1996 to work at North Bristol NHS Trust. She has over 20 years’ experience of working in Bristol, specialising over the last 10 years in community paediatrics, treating children with a wide range of neurological, developmental and congenital impairments.
Kate has a special interest in early intervention and treatment of cerebral palsy and developmental delay. She has trained using the Bobath and neurodevelopmental methods as a treatment approach for children with neurological disorders and movement disorders.
Kate is trained in hydrotherapy and Halliwick. Halliwick is a method of teaching children with disabilities to swim.
Kate has experience of working with children both on dry land and in hydrotherapy prior to and following SDR surgery.
Kate is passionate about making physiotherapy fun and engaging for children and their families, maximising the child’s compliance and enjoyment of their therapy programme.
Kate is also a member of the Association of Paediatric Chartered Physiotherapists and the Aquatic Therapy Association of Chartered Physiotherapists.
